I’ve seen lots of cool sites that allow you to send someone a file that may be too big for email. What if you have 20 pictures from your camera you want to send to your brother? You have a couple choices… either zip them up and hope your email client doesn’t reject them… you could go through one-by-one and re-size them down to emailable sizes… OR… you could use the site I just found: EatLime.
Just click “Add File” to keep adding files… up to 1GB! Then send your buddy the link provided…. they’ll be lead to a (more…)

Are you an owl who flies at night, or a lark who sings at dawn?
Some people are night owls. Some people are morning larks. When you know which type you are, you can use that information to improve your energy cycle and to work more effectively with others.
If you’re a night owl, you take about two hours to really wake up, and you tend to run on autopilot until then. Sunlight, exercise, protein and showers will help you to wake up faster, so get them into your morning routine if you can. In the mean time, plan your mornings before you go to bed. Finish tasks the day before they’re due. Lay your clothes out the night before an important meeting. Have a protein rich breakfast ready for yourself when you wake up, or else you won’t eat before noon. Night owls start to fly as the day progresses, so you should set aside your evenings and afternoons to do any important work. After all, that’s when you’re at your most creative and energetic. But you should also be watchful of the late nights. Owls take a couple of hours to wake up, and they take a couple of hours to (more…)

I tend to keep lists in my head - I have to force myself to get them on paper, which is why I’ve fallen in love with all things Moleskine. When these lists start to build up, they cause a cloud in my head that not only is unproductive, but kills all hope of the good things and ideas on the list of ever being realized.
Quite a while ago I found a few things that can affect you so much, but are so basic, you may be missing them without even knowing it. I’ll mention a few here and will expand on them in later posts.
1.) HYDRATION
This might seem ridiculous, but did you know that 75% of the population is severely dehydrated at any given time? Chances are, this includes you. I know for a fact that it included me everyday - and still does include me sometimes.
First lets address why this is important. L. Lee Coyne, Ph.D., a well known nutritional consultant said, “nearly all the bio-chemical reactions that occur in body cells depend on water…[water is] vital to maintaining life but also affects physical and mental performance.” So, we can safely say that how your (more…)

I’ve developed a habit, and it’s seems that it’s paid off huge. A couple years ago, I started playing around with the different start-pages. I started with Pageflakes, then tried Windows Live and Netvibes. I’ve landed on Netvibes now after trying every other start page out there, but I digress. How in the world could’ve this helped my wealth?
Let me touch on Netvibes and how I use it so you can see how it’s affected my life. Any of these may work for you too!
First of all, I do Web Development for my day job, so I’m almost always at the computer whether I’m at work or at home (this is touchy with the girlfriend, but that’s for another post!). This allows me to have my Netvibes page open in a Firefox tab all the time.
Notes
Netvibes has a notes application that allows you to simply click and type a note. This note is then available to you anywhere you have access to the site. I use this for simply things like to-dos ideas, etc. For more complex lists, I also use the Remember The Milk module.
Niche Feeds
Whatever your area of interest, whether Internet marketing, real estate, programming, or mowing grass - there are sites out there devoted to what you’re passionate about. I have a Netvibes tab devoted to Design, one for Programming, one for Marketing, one for Personal Blogs, etc. This allows me to (more…)

Do you feel guilty about all the publications you purchase but never read — or the articles you read with great ideas or opportunities you never implement? Are you spending time recreating marketing materials because you cannot find what you wrote the preceding month or year? Do you run out the door for an appointment at the last minute because you could not find your keys or the directions you needed to get where you are going? Are you frequently feeling tired and overwhelmed? Do the people you care about express frustration at your disorganization or want to spend more time with you? If so, “getting organized” should be high on your priority list!
One of the continual frustrations in my career as a professional organizing consultant has been people’s misconceptions about what it means to be “organized.” Visions of unrealistically tidy desks and impossible mandates such as (more…)

Learning to successfully plan your time and follow the plan is the most important key to structuring our life. But many people resist the idea of tracking their time. Maybe it seems like just “another thing to do” in an already harried schedule. I urge people who feel this way to try this system for one month. I tell them that if it doesn’t work, pitch it. Most people I have worked with are willing to make the one-month commitment, and over 90 percent continue to use the system.
Let’s get started with your own system to take control of your life and your time. As you glance through this section, you might be tempted to skip a step or two. I caution you that this is like a recipe. Skipping one step is the equivalent of leaving out an ingredient. For maximum success use all the ingredients.
Step One: Take stock of how you currently use your time. Perhaps the most tedious of all the steps is to figure out exactly where your time is currently going. The balance wheel provided an overview of where you are. If possible, try to get even more specific. Many time management experts suggest carrying a (more…)

Growing businesses are finding outsourcing is becoming a regular necessity to keep up with increasing demands. Over the past few years, a new resource has emerged and is gaining momentum as the word spreads; that is, the services of a Virtual Assistant (VA)
With the advances of technology, it is becoming easier for businesses to outsource some of their administrative tasks, without the need of having a person in house. No need to provide a desk and computer. A VA is able to provide administrative support to businesses all over the world. Distance is never an issue. VA’s communicate with their clients by email, telephone, fax, instant messenger or file transfer.
So what is a Virtual Assistant? Since 1996, more than 5,000 professionals around the world have become Virtual Assistants. A Virtual Assistant is an independent business owner who works from their (more…)
