What Could Innovation Do For Your Life?

It’s a talent that everyone has, yet they think they don’t. The power of innovation. If you’ve ever marvelled at somebody’s creative prowess, guess what, you can create and innovate too. It just takes time. Everyone is born creative. The box of crayons in kindergarten were not limited to those who possessed potential; because the truth is, everybody has potential.

You know how long it took to learn to ride a bike or drive or to never commit the same mistake again? It’s the same with innovation. It takes a  bit of practice and a lot of time before this mind function comes easily  when called. This article will teach you a few tips on how to bring innovation into your life.

Don’t listen to what other people say. Follow the beat of your own drum. Allowing for the input of other people will only bring cacophony to the music you are trying to make. If you have an original idea, don’t waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. They won’t. And the help you will probably get comes in the form of negative feedback. If all those geniuses listened to their peers, we would probably still be living in the middle ages. (more…)

10 Ways To Start Taking Control

At first glance, it would seem that positive thinking and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) have nothing to do with one another. But many of us with ADD develop negative thinking patterns because we become frustrated by our challenges and frequent feelings of being overwhelmed. This negative outlook then makes it even harder for us to manage those challenges and move forward.

Practicing positive thinking allows people with ADD to focus on our strengths and accomplishments, which increases happiness and motivation. This, in turn, allows us to spend more time making progress, and less time feeling down and stuck. The following tips provide practical suggestions that you can use to help you shift into more positive thinking patterns:

1. Take Good Care of Yourself
It’s much easier to be positive when you are eating well, exercising, and getting enough rest. (more…)

Keep On Trying!

Who on earth has succeeded at the first attempt?!

A common misconception is the fact that people actually reach success overnight.  It never happens - not even sometimes.  It’s possible that some  may become famous overnight - but that hardly makes them successful. Most successful people faced a lot of failures before they reached what others call “the overnight success”.

But what is the secret behind the overnight success? How do successful people react when they fail? To reveal this secret let me ask you one question:

Why do you fail to reach your goals? Do you even know what the ONLY reason is behind your failure to achieve your goals? (more…)

10 Ways to Empower Your Communication

The Blarney Stone is a historical stone, or actually part of the Blarney Castle in Ireland where it was believed that kissing the stone can grant you the gift of gab. Yeah, it seems strange in this day and age, but who are we to question tradition? It’s not like I’m saying that Santa Claus doesn’t exist (OOPS!).

There is so much to know about conversation that anyone, even I, could ever realize. You can go though watching talk shows; radio programs; clubs dedicated to public speaking; ordinary conversations; certain rules still apply when it comes to interaction through words. It may sound tedious, I know, but even though it’s your mouth that’s doing the work, your brain works twice as hard to churn out a lot of things you know. So what better way to start learning to be an effective communication is to know the very person closest to you: yourself.

1. What you know.
Education is all about learning the basics, but to be an effective speaker is to practice what you’ve learned. My stint as guest at every Toastmasters’ meeting I go to taught me that we all have our limitations, but that doesn’t mean we can’t learn to keep up and share what we know. (more…)

Recruiting Online

Being able to recruit online has really opened the door for those in direct sales to build large sales teams. Since communicating through the world wide web is a lot different then communicating face to face, there are some things you should be doing as well as some things you should not be doing while recruiting for your direct sales business opportunity.

First of all be honest with your potential recruits. Don’t try and make it sound like the direct sales company that you represent is the only company out there that is profitable. Just let them know the honest facts about the income potential that they can have with your company and by all means share how excited you are about what you are selling. (more…)

7 Steps to Positive Thinking

I’m sure you have a bright idea hidden somewhere in the back of your mind that you just can’t wait to test out. Of course you’re not the only one with the bright idea. So what motivates you to churn those creative, or even inspiring juices to its utmost flavor?

It’s always best to set up a personal goal where you can accomplish the most in record time, maybe like mowing the lawn in an hour before the big game on TV. A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable.

Here are some tips to make it through the week even if you’re just sitting in your favorite couch. An idea takes time to form in your head and is always at work while you are busy sitting.

Having a bit of positive thinking can help you realize things that are never thought possible. Thinking big is indeed the American Way and that what made our country prosperous. (more…)

Passionate Love

Passion is a burning emotion, a strong feeling or a desire that is deep within your soul. When you have found the perfect man/woman you will be passionately in love. You will want to spend every moment with your lover. That empty space inside that you tried to hide for so long will be filled with the passion of desire. Every inch of your being longs to be with your lover. It is as though, for a moment, you have been trapped in a world that is so far away from reality. Everything feels so surreal and you need the security of knowing this love will last.

Driving in your car you listen to ballads on the radio certain they were written for you. You try to concentrate on the mundane things of life when in reality your thoughts are embraced in the flesh of your lover. You wonder when the alarm clock will wake you up from this surreal world that has become your reality. Friends remark on how lapsidaisical you have been and you blush. Silently knowing the reason why you forgot to phone your friend last night. Your days are filled with dreams of your loved one. Rather like those cartoon bubbles that capture the (more…)

  • Ritual and Repetion

A wise man once indicated that you should write about the things that you are the most familiar with (or are dearest to your heart) because they would be the most authentic things you could ever say. I tend to agree with that sentiment and, being a dabbler in words myself, I’d like to approach the subject of personal productivity based on the perspective I’ve reached as a writer.

For me, as for many other writers, ritual is very important because the act of repetition helps to draw the creative aspects to the surface, perhaps enhancing the alpha waves of the mind and allowing free expression to come forth. I accomplish this in a few different ways. Firstly, I need a cup of tea next to the computer (for me, not for the computer), and it should be Tetley’s British Blend with a wee splash of milk. The mug needs to meet the fine balance of containing enough tea to satisfy while not being overly large so that the nectar contained therein will go cold before consumption. (more…)
