That was my “secret” ambition too, but it was highly frowned upon. We were taught in school that we had to have a career AND a family AND a household AND be dependent upon no one.

Being a housewife was not a “real” job.

I can still remember my embarrassment with that secret desire, like I was doing something wrong.

Now I am a happy work at home, homeschooling mom of two and I wouldnt trade it for the world!
